Pineapple Punch
On the streets of Los Angeles we are lucky enough to have waiting for us along the curb, carts filled with fresh fruit. Shaken and served in a plastic bag and fork. Take your pick and mix them all together: Pineapple, Cucumber, Jicama, Mango and Kiwi. So here comes the punch: a dash of sea salt and cayenne pepper.. Oh-ya!
As my favorite Bulgarian Queen says, "Cool and Crispy"...and it is.
All the senses are attended too:
Blood pumping from the red pepper
Kidneys cleaned by the cucumbers
The entire lot creates a combination of cures: bruising, digestion, anti-inflammatory, vitamins and minerals, breathing, blood flow, all the fourth Chakra-Heart characters.
So when you are in town, cruising along, and you spy a guy on the side of the road with an umbrella that looks like a beach ball...
...pull over for some fast relief and enjoy.

OMG! That looks so good! I love everything in that combo! I'll have to make it at home!! Yum!
Nothing like that on the streets of conservative VA suburbs or downtown DC. I am craving some cleansing, so I'm off to the store tomorrow for ingredients!
Thanks for this well-timed post!
: )
that's so cool! i love fresh fruit. your post is making me think of what my ideal fruit combination would be :)
now this sounds like something i'd like to try...
It is amazing how much we benefit from the simple foods. Indulge!
Now what is jicama? Its new to me! This salad sounds cool to me! I like the idea of cayenne!
Marmsk: Jicama is this odd root vegetable that looks like a brown potato on the outside, and more like a water chestnut in texture. It is white, and light and airy. It has a slight sweet-woodsy flavor, and a lot of fiber and crunch.
Lots of vitamin C.
Still it is more of a filler than a staple. Very refreshing.
That stuff is way yum!!!
Yum yum yum - it looks absolutely scrumptious!
Inspired by this, today I mixed cucumber, tomato, avacado, peach & cilantro with redwine venegar, basamic venegar salad dressing & olive oil. They are delicious. I think the application is endless.
Le Yeah: Wow!
..I usually avoid vinegar at all costs but, I think I should give it another whirl. Balsamic 'crema' is a huge exception to the pushes me right off my hypocrisy ledge.
Happy to hear you recv'd some creative-food-spark...;P
