Verandah, Ojai

I want big color.
I need simple things.

I want an elegant hand bag.
I need a market basket.

I want a new roof.
I need a cozy corner.

I want a new view.
I need a new point of view.

I want to explore peeks and valleys.
I need to bloom where I am planted.

Tell me too, what is true for you? "Want" vs. "Need"

I want a lot of quiet time
I need just a little each day

love the post Teri!!

I just checked out ReturntotheSacred.com.... love it! I will bookmark it and spend some more time there tonight.
I'd like to get myself down to Tucson to Canyon Ranch... yes.... that would be terrific! : )

I want to go to Canyon Ranch
I need to go to Canyon Ranch.....lol!

Manon: That's a good Mantra!
I need. I want. I will. I am. ;P

hmmm. this is quite the battle in life. there are many many things i want, but lately i do not want to pay for them! as far as the intangible wants go, i need to work on defining them and figuring out how to try and get them.

Drollgirl: Good answer, good answer!

Let's say: "I want everything"
"I need pay for nothing".

In Chinglish we call this "Pa Kae"
(Pah-Kay) = Cheap.Cheap.Cheap.Cheap.

Walking is free.
Talking is free.
Writing is free.
30 dates/30 days = eating is free.

Work it Drollgirl...work it.

Plus> the few ultra rich old guys I know of, love to be invited to a friend's house to eat = Free meal ;P

Pray to the Art-Gallery-Gods to gift you and grant you, everything you want and need, in speed.

Defy gravity.

Beautiful poem and post Teri... for me my wants and needs get all jumbled up on a regular basis. So hard to tell the two apart! :)

Am I the only one who more often than not switches the two.

The things I scream that I "need", end up to be a passing "want" and all the things I really "need", I don't even know enough to "want".

"Oh wise and mighty Universe , show me what I truly need, and guide me to see the difference".

Great post, Teri. I love the wants and needs you have given us. I think we always want so much more than we need.

I am feeling pretty lucky these days, my wants and needs are simple. I have found that I have so much that I don't really need any more...If anything, I need less...LOL
I'm satisfied just the way things are :) It's a good place to be.
Hugs to YOu, and Have a Wonderful Weekend!

That is a great place to be.
Continue to be, well and not wanting.

i'm always having to remind myself that my wants and needs are two different things. a new point of view is always helpful.

For some reason my wants always bring to surface my needs. Example I want a new pair of Louboutin's but I need a new floor. Love the post, Teri.

I am just going to eat a pomegranate and to be honest I was too lazy to even cut into it, you have saved the day.

I think my wants are always screaming to me and my needs I take for granted (which may be a bad thing). Thanks for making me think about this today. Thanks also for sharing your fears yesterday.

Confession: My nature is to go to the farmer's market for food, and instead come home with arm loads of flowers.

I have since curbed my instinct to actually enjoy the flowers but, keep walking by, until I have one arm carrying a load of fresh veggies, and the other with prepared food.

Once in a while in invest in an orchid knowing that it will last me a bit longer than a cut bouquet for about the same price, and none of the after stink. Progress speaks ;P
