A Place in The Shade

Thank goodness it is cooling off just a bit but, still I will take the time to sit inside, allow the hot asphalt roll by, and instead watch the faucet drip.

Some papaya to soothe my sore throat.

Some crisp fresh pears to to float my imaginary boat.

And then blend them together when I get bored, and spoon out each sip.

A book would be good. I might even make it through the entire pile.

I'll make a feline stretch and attempt to reach for a fork,
and file on in mounds of some dark-molasses-ginger-bread.

I'll search around for another spot...

..just to posture my Self for another view.

I sat "bitch-seat" on the way to the No Doubt concert two Mondays ago, with the air-conditioning blowing full blast and that's all it took.
I have had that Summer drip ever since. The Sun feels good, and the Ocean, and the pool, and then it just creeps back.

oh no, sore throats are no fun. i hope you feel better soon. papaya reminds of summers in puerto rico- we'd pick up papaya and mangoes straight off the dirt ground and eat them. those were sweet days.

Yummy gingerbread and fruit! This is such a beautiful post. I want to curl up with a cup of tea, look at vintage gardening books, and eat a sweet sort of bread. Too bad I can't take tomorrow morning to do this...
