Comfort: bowl warm and waiting

Comfort food is what is due these days. One simple bowl, warm and waiting. Subtle sweet is what keeps me seated at the table. Golden amber sweet pototoes, cubed, and tossed in a big bowl with oil oil, and then sprinkled generously with sea salt. Brown them in the oven, what for an hour?..or so. Some thing short of broil. Make your morning productive, with one eye peering through the small square window. When the scent is wafting through the living room air, getting you out of your chair, one too many times to check...then it's time. Claim your bowl, pile in a portion and sprinkle with sesame seeds to complete this charitable bowl of goodness. Be good to you, best you can. Enjoy the business of being well, and do well my you.

I slice them thin, toss them in olive oil, then lay them out on a cookie sheet to broil. A little sea salt and maybe some paprika. Yummm.... Your way sounds easier so I'll try this next time.

Roberta: I think we are on the same game plan. Sometimes I flash them in the pan first and then place the skillet in the oven. Real "sea salt" is always the key ingredient to the simplest of dishes.

Truthfully...I believe those were 'Sweet Potatoes'...not yams. Denser, lighter color, more starchy, more of a mouth full.

My favorite food!! although I bake them whole. their sweetness bursting out, I peel them right in my plate, natural, nothing added. I will try your recipe next time, that olive oil and sea salt is a good pair in many dishes.

That sounds delicious and simple. I do the same with white potatoes, add parsley, but then I can't help smothering them with sour cream! I love the way your writting flows.
