Please Your Self Mamacita

Storing all these moments
Saving all these memories
Marking every movement
Savoring all our stories

Making all these tokens
Baking all our favorites
Churning everyone's emotions
Raking in every recipe

Holding all our hearts
Mending all our homes
Shaking out every doubt
Warming all chilled bodies

Raving all our starts
Ironing all our stops
Sticking every applaud
Embracing each with charity

Mexican Wedding cakes > Russian Tea cakes > Snowball cookies:

Oven: 300*F

1 stick of butter + 2 table spoon of sugar = blend to fluffy

Add the rest and mix well:
1 cup flour
1 cup crushed pecans
1/4 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons of vanilla

Scoop and roll into yolk size balls = 32 approx.
Lay out on vellum lined cookie sheet, one inch apart
Bake: 45 minutes

While still hot:
Set a bowl full of powdered sugar and roll each ball in, one by one and back to the cookie sheet to cool. A second coat of powdered sugar can be sifted across the top.

Note: These are traditionally made with walnuts but, I prefer the pecans. Mi familia recipe album recalls them as "Almond Christmas Balls". Make you choice your own.
My Mamacita preferred them to be rolled to the size and shape of your pinkie finger and then crescent bent at the middle, allowing it to be a little more "Lady-like" and a little less "Ho-bag" on approach. You never know who's spying while you pop one in.
Enjoy ;<>
