Fall in Love at The Getty

There are so many ways to find and see creative genius.
With each Season brings a new perspective, another attempt.
We show up with one intent, and discover another.
We stand up searching the walls, and end up laying down and looking up, to an unexpected point of view.

Lucky am I to find my way to an ocean filled with a collective of high I.Q.
Learn as I do, the mind plays, and shares, and stumbles, and rebounds.
The super human real life heroes, travel with simple and humble egos.
Ambition abounds with delight and obsession but, never self right.

I peek around to see if there might be anyone else with eyes popping.
Anyone else with heart thumping?
Anyone else with pulse racing?
Around the corner I spy, something more than cake topping.

Spooning, cuddling and petting, smooching and touching.
Breathing and reaching, yawning and stretching.
Chinese, we say Ching-Ching.
Around here we say kissing.

There are more who are sipping, and tasting, and gulping.
Manners are flung, along with arms over head, and legs over another.
Mindful of nothing but time and space and sense of place.
Cups flowing, plates folded and napkins crumbled, ice slowly melting.

Freedom felt only surrounded by a crowd who is cooing.
Babies are strolling, and sucking, their parents wishing.
Wishing they could stay there longer too, just doing nothing.
Freshman taking photos, tourist listening, and still spirits running.

Neat post, Teri. I love the Getty :)) At the Getty in the city I so love the color of the rock walls...it's so golden. On a sunny day with the light just right it truly feels like you are walking through a glowing hallway!

I actually enjoyed the Getty at the beach more before they redid it. It feels too commercial to me now...that may be because I have been to Rome since my original trip there so it pales in comparison to the magnificence of Rome.

I didn't realize the Getty was such a big makeout place...LOL

Hugs, Teri :))

Great post :) That second pic is a fantastic perspective, and I feel a bit like a voyeur watching those happy couples. I must see the Getty one day. I actually just posted about The Modern Museum of Fort Worth today. Fun timing!

The Getty Villa was always a local favorite of mine. Maybe that's why it took me until know to get over that hump, and push on up to the other side of the hill.

The Villa however, is still a nice place for lunch. They offer up a country loaf of bread on wood cutting block and a very big knife to finish the job. Well done.

We can all use a bigger display of Love, and some sweet "Ching-Ching"...and why not share both, some place spectacular with as many surprised and spying eyes as possible.
